At LikeList, we’ve been thinking about fashion. And for businesses, the first thing people notice is your online “look”. How do you make a great first impression? Here are a few tips to help you strut your local business stuff.
There are several ways to add bling to your LikeList business page. Claim your business first, of course, but then it’s time to accessorize. Start by adding your logo or photo. The image tool makes it easy to upload a picture and select the portion of the image you would like to use.
Next, take a moment to let folks know what is unique about you. In particular, what service or product are you known for, and why?
Then add a sentence about what makes your business a great member of the community. Are you a certified green business? Have you donated to the local Little League? Are you a member of the Chamber of Commerce? It turns out if people know these things, they are often more likely to give you their business and even spend more with you.
Finally, share a deal or message to give people a reason to stop by. This can be an ongoing deal, like 5% off on Wednesdays, free appetizer with entrée between 5-6pm, free gift with purchase, discounted admission, BOGO…. Basically anything you are offering at your place of business already. Or you might try on a limited time offer to bring people in on specific days or times.
But you don’t have to offer a deal – a great message can be information about a new trend, or an opportunity to attend a sale an hour or day early. It could be news about a new product or service you are offering, a special fundraising day, custom services you provide such as special orders or bulk purchases, or something about you as an owner and your expertise (“Stop by for a free 10 minute consultation!)
The finishing touch is to ask some of your best customers to like you on LikeList and leave an über useful tip. Then you can choose the best three tips to feature on your page.
Sharing your knowledge and expertise is a great way to demonstrate your style and show off what makes your local business great! So be a trendsetter and create, or update, your look online today.
