How do I invite my Facebook friends to join LikeList?
Log into your LikeList account and click on the Friends tab in the green header bar. Here you will see who you are following, who is following you, and who you are connected to (meaning you are both following eachother). To invite your Facebook friends to join LikeList, choose Find Facebook Friends the right of your friends list, select your friends, and fire off your invitations!

How do I see what my Facebook friends like?

Sign into LikeList and go to your account settings (located at the top right corner of the page).  Turn the “Get Likes from Facebook” button ON and your LikeList will be updated with the businesses you and your friends like on Facebook.

*TIP: Check out your “Latest” tab to see the most recent activity by your friends.

How is my business already on LikeList if I haven’t signed up?

LikeList has purchased a commercial database of over 14 million local businesses in the United States. In addition, local businesses have been added all over the country by LikeList users who want to Like a local favorite. Your business may have Likes already! Claim your business listing now to customize information and add a deal that can be seen by friends, friends of friends, and local consumers.

What does it mean to “claim a business?”

Claiming a business allows you to take ownership of the business listing. It gives you access to everything you need to maintain and promote your business on LikeList. You can manage and edit your listing information, update deals and messages to your customers, feature comments and reviews your business has received, and see your Business Performance and Reputation Dashboard. Your Dashboard allows you to monitor key information such as the number of customers who like or have listed you, the number of views and clicks to your listing and website, and more marketing options.

I have claimed a business, how do I manage my listing and information?

To manage your listing information and access all of the great benefits that LikeList has to offer for your business, simply log into your LikeList account and click on the Business tab at the top of the page. There you will be able to access your Business Central to manage your listing and edit your business information.

What is a LikeList Ad and do I have to create one?

A LikeList Ad is an Offer or Message that is displayed with your business listing each time someone views it. LikeList Ads are optional, but they are a very fast and easy way to reach your customers and your customers’ friends. Place a LikeList Ad today, it’s free!

How do I publish my deal/message to Facebook and/or Twitter?

When creating your LikeList Ad, check the “Post to your Facebook fan page” or “Post to your Twitter” boxes to instantly publish to your social networks.

How do I sync my LikeList listing to my Facebook and/or Twitter?

LikeList makes it painless to manage your Facebook Fan Page and Twitter account. Enabling account synchronization will publish your Deals and messages to both your business’s Fan Page and to your Twitter stream automatically. Editing your ad or message will publish the change immediately to LikeList, Facebook, and Twitter.  In your business dashboard, click on the Facebook & Twitter Synchronization tab and turn the appropriate switches on or off as desired.

Oops! I accidently claimed a business, how do I “unclaim” it?

Sign into your LikeList account and follow these steps:

• Click on the Business tab at the top of the page
• Click on the “Business Dashboard” tab
• Click “Deactivate” in the upper right corner

My business listing shows an incorrect category, how do I change it?

Sign into your LikeList account and follow these steps:

• Click on the Business tab at the top of the page
• Click on the “Edit Your Business Details” tab
• Edit the Business Category field to reflect the correct category

I want to put a badge on my website that says “Like us on LikeList” – where can I find it?

LikeList badges are a great way to encourage your customers to Like your business on LikeList and add positive reviews! LikeList logos and badges can be found at: http://www.likelist.com/mediacenter

My Likes from Facebook are not showing on my LikeList – why is this?

Likes from Facebook automatically sync to your LikeList account if they are businesses (if you have Facebook Account Synchronization on). If the Likes on Facebook are anything but businesses, such as movies, music, etc. they will not be synced with your LikeList as LikeList only displays businesses.

Will LikeList contact my Facebook friends after I sign in?

LikeList will never contact your Facebook friends without your authorization.

What is LikeList?

LikeList is a social local platform that allows people to quickly find trusted referrals and deals that are right for them.  LikeList helps you cut through the clutter and make informed decisions…fast. Need a recommendation for a local physician or a kid-friendly restaurant? It’s all good. LikeList shows you only what you want to know: your friends’ trusted recommendations, and deals from businesses that you like.

How does it work?

It’s simple – sign into LikeList with your Facebook  account and you will automatically be able to create your own LikeList in seconds.  Your friends’ likes from Facebook will be collected and displayed and you can immediately begin browsing your friends’ local recommendations.  (and don’t worry, your Facebook friends will never be contacted unless you contact them yourself).

If you prefer to sign into LikeList using your email address and not Facebook, making your own LikeList is as easy as seeing a business you like and clicking the List It button.  Told ya it was simple!

How is LikeList different from the other referral service/review sites?

Do I have to register to use LikeList?

We recommend that you register for LikeList to truly benefit from the service. It only takes a moment to join. You can view and discover locally liked businesses without registering, but you won’t be able to enjoy personal recommendations from friends or create your own custom list until you register.

I do not have a Facebook account; can I still sign up for LikeList?

Yes!  Simply click on the “Join LikeList” on the homepage and sign up.  It takes less than a minute!  To see what your friends like, you can easily invite folks individually to join you on LikeList.  Simply add their email addresses to send an invite, or ask them for a specific referral to get started.

How do I start my LikeList?
Starting your LikeList is easy!  Log into your LikeList account and begin browsing lists or searching for businesses that you like and click on the big green Like It button.  When you click on the Like It button, you will be able to enter your tips about the business and click “Add” to add it to your LikeList.  Click on “Add to Custom Lists” or “Add to a new Custom List” to specify what list(s) you want the business to be on.

How do I create custom lists?
Log into your LikeList account and click on “Start a List,” in the upper right hand corner of your page.   To manage your lists, click on “My Lists” in the upper right hand corner of your page and choose the existing list that you want to modify/access.

The lists and deals I see are not in my city – how do I change the location?
To change your location, click on the city and state that is currently being shown and type in the location of the area you are looking for.  You can do this all throughout the Latest, Lists, and Deals pages.

How do I see deals from the businesses I like?
Log into your LikeList account and click on the Deals tab at the top of the page.  To view deals only from the businesses that are on your Lists, make sure that the heading says “View deals near (your city) from My Businesses.”  If it says from Everyone, click on the word “Everyone” and select “My Businesses.”

How do I browse lists based on categories?
To browse lists of different categories, first click on “lists” above the search bar, then click on the drop down menu next to “Browse categories.”

How do I see lists created by my friends?
To see what your friends like, view the Lists tab at the top of the page and set the filter from Everyone to My Friends.  You can also search for a specific friend’s list(s) by clicking on ‘people’ above the search bar and searching for their name.

How do I find a business?
First, click on “likes” above the search bar, and then enter the business name or category in the search bar.

How do I add the businesses I frequent from foursquare?
Sign into LikeList and go to your account settings (located at the top right corner of the page).  Turn the “Get Check-ins from foursquare” button ON and your LikeList will be updated with the businesses you frequent on Foursquare (based on the criteria you choose).

How many foursquare check-ins equal a like on LikeList?

You can customize your settings to choose how many check-ins equal a like on LikeList.  Sign into LikeList and go to your account settings (located at the top right corner of the page).  Make sure the “Get Check-ins from foursquare” button is switched to ON.  Choose the number of check-ins to have added to your LikeList and make sure you check the box, “Add businesses with __ or more check-ins to my LikeList.

How do I connect or disconnect my LikeList from Facebook or foursquare?

Sign into LikeList and go to your account settings (located at the top right corner of the page).  Turn the “Get Likes from Facebook” and “Get Check-ins from foursquare” buttons ON or OFF, based on your desired preference.

How do I invite friends to LikeList?
Log into your LikeList account and click on the Friends tab in the green header bar. To add friends to LikeList, choose one of the methods to the right of your friends list (LikeList, Facebook, Twitter, etc) and fire off your invitations!

How do I share a business I like with friends?

To share a business that you like with your friends, simply click on “Share,” located under the Listed button.

How do I share lists with friends?

When viewing a list, click on Share, located just below the green bar that is at the top of the page, and simply choose who to send it to and fire it off to be enjoyed.

How do I embed a list to my blog/website?

Log into your LikeList account, go to “My Lists,” select the list that you wish to embed, and click on “Embed” (located to the right of the list title). 

To the right, you will see a section titled “Layout” with several options below.  Using those options, you can customize the layout of your list while seeing a preview of it to the left.  When you are satisfied with the way it looks, click on “Get Code.”  You are now ready to copy and paste the code into your HTML page to have a super cool embedded list on your site!

Is LikeList available in Canada, Mexico or other countries outside the United States?

At this time, LikeList is available only in the United States. We are eager to expand our service to Canada, Mexico, and beyond in the near future. We would like to offer LikeList in more languages as well. Please stay tuned – we appreciate your interest and look forward to serving more people soon.
